What does "web-based" or ASP mean?
eCast EMR® is a web-based (ASP) Electronic Medical Record application. eCast EMR® is remotely hosted software that is accessible via an internet web browser. While the software is hosted at eCast, the patient data belongs to the provider. What is your licensing model?
eCast EMR® charges a one-time setup fee per practice that includes set-up, training, and implementation. eCast EMR® monthly subscription is licensed per provider, not user. eCast also provides reduced subscription rates for part-time providers seeing less than 60 patients per month. Do you include e-Prescibing?
Yes, eCast EMR® and Dr 2 Dr Hybrid EMR™ include the eRx e-Prescribing module. You can also purchase just our e-Prescribing Module as a stand alone application. eCast eRx™ drug lists are based on the Multum database of over 80,000 drugs, which are updated quarterly. Provider lists can be built on the fly. Do you have a patient portal?
Yes, eCast EMR® includes eCast Connect™ Patient Portal Module. A practice can set limits on the amount and type of data the patient can view. Patients can leave notes for the provider or nurse, check progress of prescription refills, and print their records.Does eCast EMR® provide templates?
Yes, eCast EMR® comes with 200+ templates for a variety of specialties pre-loaded into the template library. Our templates are easily customizable to mimic your existing chart note. We can train your staff to modify templates or you can purchase a Custom Template package. Can I send files through email?
Yes, eCast EMR® is the first and only EMR that integrates the .mdemail technology that allows you to safely and securely send emails to providers, insurance companies, and patients. Encrypted and HIPAA compliant, .mdEmail helps practices to save money and time. What type of support do you provide?
eCast Software provides support through a fully staffed Support Center located in Raleigh, NC. The monthly subscription covers the cost of product and client support.Do you sell hardware?
No, eCast Software is strictly a software company and we do not sell computers and other hardware. However, eCast Software has partnered with Ncapsulate to provider EMR readiness assessments and to provide hardware and networking sales and service, both before and after the sale. Ncapsulate also staffs a hardware and networking support desk. What happens if my web-service goes down?
eCast Software is unique in that not only do we provide a web-based application, but eCast Assurance offers a practice an added sense of security by providing an optional in-office, server based backup. eCast Assurance™ backs up patient data every 5 minutes and in case of an internet failure, can produce a read-only copy of the patient's medical record. Once online, simply update and sign off patient records. Can eCast interface with my current PMS and Labs?
Yes, eCast EMR® comes with one (1) Lab interface for either LabCorp, Quest, or Spectrum. Other lab interfaces are by quote. eCast EMR® also comes with one (1) PMS to EMR interface provided the vendor is from our approved vendor list. Others are by quote. Please note: Some lab vendors and PMS vendors will bill charges independent from eCast.
