eCast Clinical Integration Solutions helps achieve true Clinical Integration for any physician network, whether it is an IPA, PHO, MSO, Single-Tax ID or Regional/State Association.
Clinical Integration mandates a CDR as a single source with a master patient index (MPI). The function of the MPI is to link all patient data together into a single, unified medical record regardless of which physician is seeing the patient.
Each provider network receives its own unique Clinical Data Repository (CDR).
The make-up of the CDR is very specialized and important in two aspects:
1. The data made available to the physicians must contain their own practice's patient health information (PHI) clearly and definitively.
2. The data made available to the IPA leadership must NEVER show patient health information, but must instead only show de-identified patient information.
The access of this data is regulated by HIPAA guidelines at all times. Physicians may have access to other physician's data only with express permission of the source physician, and only for that portion of the medical record that is considered "need to know". Further, the eCast system allows physicians to put time restrictions on the access to data so that it may only be viewed by other physicians for a specified amount of time.
